There are some countries (as Canada and the US) where mandatory influenza vaccine for health workers is a question in debate. There is good intention (to decrease influenza transmission) but has no scientific base, and has adverse effects in public health, as we consider in this paper.

Influenza vaccines are useless. But every year millions of patients and healthy persons get vaccinated against flu virus. Cochrane reviews are consistent: flu vaccines are useless in healthy persons (elderly, adults and children under two years) and do not stop transmission in between humans. The case of Poland versus the world demonstrated that the vaccine against swine flu (pandemic) was also useless. Year after year we have heard about the need of a new flu vaccine shot because the virus mutations. But this season, 2011-2012, the flu vaccine is exactly the same of the previous one, 2010-2011. Flu H2N2 is presented as a terrible epidemic in the XX century, with one and half million deads from 1957 to 1968. But this data only give an impression of severity as we can expect around five millions with a “normal” seasonal flu in this period of time.

Swine flu was managed is such a way by World Health Organization and national authorities that created panic. At the end of the epidemic WHO and national authorities did not do an analytical exercise to examinate their errors. So they were not errors but a world campaign of “disease mongering”.
